Notion has no process execution engine. A checklist there is a static page: no enforced order, no branching, no structured data beyond a checkbox, and no record of who completed which step when. It looks like a checklist and behaves like a document.
There is no recurring execution in Notion. The weekly server check and the monthly access review depend on someone remembering to duplicate the template page, and the copies drift from the original as people edit them.
Teams that model IT or HR workflows in Notion databases spend their time on relations, rollups and views rather than on running the process. Notion’s flexibility is the reason it is a great wiki and the reason it is a poor process runner.
Notion’s audit log is on the Business plan, which also bundles Notion AI and SSO whether you need them or not. For a team that only wants proof a process ran, that is the wrong plan to be paying for.
